Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) - UL still holds the status as the most widely recognized of the Nationally Recognized Test Laboratories (NRTLs) in the US, although other NRTLs have been making up significant ground in recent years. In addition to being a convenient 10 minute drive from our lab here in San Jose, UL is a former employer of our founder (over three decades ago!).

CSA - Canadian Standards Association - We have been working with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) for almost twenty-four years, and most often work with the Pacific Region office in Vancouver.

CKC Laboratories - Our partner lab, and SEL's choice for EMC. TUV SUD America Inc. - cTUVus (NRTL), SCC (Canada), WEEE/RoHS, EMC and other international approvals.

American National Standards Institute - ANSI Online, The Institute oversees the creation, promulgation and use of thousands of norms and guidelines. ANSI is also actively engaged in accrediting programs that assess conformance to standards – including globally-recognized cross-sector programs such as the ISO 9000 (quality) and ISO 14000 (environmental) management systems.

Federal Communications Commission - The FCC is an independent United States government agency. The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. The FCC's jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions.

IEEE - A non-profit organization, IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. The IEEE name was originally an acronym for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. Today, the organization's scope of interest has expanded into so many related fields, that it is simply referred to by the letters I-E-E-E (pronounced Eye-triple-E).

International Organization for Standardization - ISO is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards.

International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) - The IEC is the world's leading organization that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies — collectively known as "electrotechnology".

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute - (ETSI) produces globally-applicable standards for Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), including fixed, mobile, radio, converged, broadcast and internet technologies.

CENELEC - The European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization, was created in 1973 as a result of the merger of two previous European organizations: CENELCOM and CENEL. Nowadays, CENELEC is a non-profit technical organization set up under Belgian law and composed of the National Electrotechnical Committees of 30 European countries. In addition, 8 National Committees from neighboring countries are participating in CENELEC work with an Affiliate status.

CB Scheme - List of participating countries and agencies that have agreed to accept each others test reports and evaluations, in part at least, if certain rules are followed.

SEMI - is the global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chains for the microelectronic, display and photovoltaic industries. SEMI member companies are the engine of the future, enabling smarter, faster and more economical products that improve our lives. We are an affiliated member of SEMI.

National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) - administered by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The site includes a description of the various functions of the program, as well as list of accredited laboratories and staff links.

National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (NARTE) is a worldwide, nonprofit, professional organization which certifies qualified engineers and technicians in the fields of telecommunications, electromagnetic compatibility/interference (EMC/EMI), electrostatic discharge (ESD) control, and wireless systems installation. A wealth of information on this topic is included here.

Voluntary Control Council for Interference's (VCCI) mandate is to take voluntary control measures against electronic interference from information technology equipment and electronic office machines in Japan. The site offers EMC information and Council reports.
